JOKES WORKSHOP

When I was a young lad my father, an electrical contractor, had a large shed about the size of a garage and this was his workshop, where he repaired electrical appliances and prepared work for the following day, and whenever I hear the word 'workshop' that's the image that springs to mind.

In recent times, however, the word has taken on another connotation and has become a training session, or day of instruction. Actors have 'workshops', business consultants have 'workshops' and even comedians have 'workshops'. Thus, pretensious or not, and not wishing to be left out, I join these illustrious groups with a Joke Workshop. The title says it all. We'll hoist a few gags up on to the workbench, screw them into the vice, hack bits off and stick other bits on. We're going to have a bash at making our own jokes and then showing them to the class.

So please join me if you will. Please be aware of the safety regulations and wear your protective hat and goggles at all times
